Your Care

I offer a homebirth service, which also provides all your antenatal care in the comfort of your own home.

There is an initial consultation after which you decide if you want me to be your midwife. If you do, then we arrange a time for your booking. At this meeting we plan your schedule of antenatal care and arrange any screening that you would like. Typically I would expect to see you monthly 'til 28 weeks, fortnightly 'til 36 weeks and weekly until birth. You may book me at any time prior to the birth depending on my existing work load.

I will attend you during your birth at home. Liz Nightingale, with whom I work closely, will act as my second midwife. I would arrange for Liz to have met you prior to the birth. If Liz is not available another midwife I can call is Meg Miskin-Garside. I would escort you by ambulance to hospital should the need arise; once in hospital I am not longer able to act as your midwife, but will usually stay to provide support.

I offer postnatal care at home for up to 6 weeks following your baby's birth . If you have been in hospital, I can arrange to see you once you are home.
